Mortgage Underwriter
Aerotek Professional service has several openings for mortgage underwriters for a large financial institution in Columbia, SC. The position offers competitive pay based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving and underwriting the difficult, most complex individual consumer requests and products within company and industry guidelines. Dependent on division, functions include determining decisions/exceptions beyond the decision authority levels of less experienced underwriters; serving as a consultant/technical resource on difficult problems and questions; handling escalated calls: second level reviews; providing work direction, feedback and training to underwriting staff including coaching lower level underwriters on underwriting decision, department procedures and policies; delivering/facilitating of technical training to ensure organizational consistency. May act as backup in absence of Supervisor.
